Business Systems or Mindset? What makes the real difference?

Written by admin on Sunday, April 4th, 2010

I much of the information I see out there on businesses and business coaching, deals with systems and implementing string business systems into your practices.  This certainly will improve the performance of the business, however it still is all based upon a foundation.  That foundation is the mindset of the business owner.  If that mindset is not congruent with generating success, or ease, then the systems will only be as successful as the owner who is implementing them.

What does that look like?  It could be that a business owner doesn’t fully implement the entire system so it can work smoothly, or doesn’t allow themselves to get the right training to use it efficiently.  They could also have it fully implemented, but not use it at all.

Have you heard business associates ever tell you “I’ve tried that but it didn’t work!”  Well, you might directly go to the ineffectiveness of the system, or you could go deeper and look at the success level of your business associate?  Do things come to them easily?  Are they very successful?  Are they growing, or have they been at the same spot for the last several years?  If any of those questions are true, you may want to question if it is truly the system, or the business owner.

If you have the proper mindset, you will create more from using an atiquated system than you would using a system that has all the bells and whistles, yet you consistently get in your own way of success.

In other words,

Your mindset is everything, and having the best system in the world won’t compensate for a poor mindset.  Once you are clear on what you want and have made the decision to go for it, I mean TRULY go for it, like you aren’t saving anything for the trip back, you will automatically do the things that will allow you to get to your goals, and if that means updating antiquated equipment, then that is what you will do, without whining, and without fear.

What are your thoughts?
