Well, this is certainly a different approach, why a small business would not want to use a business coach. Most articles and discussions talk about why you would be crazy not to use a business coach. There are actually some situations where it wouldn’t be helpful…. All of them are based on where you are in your head, and how focused you are in your goals. Read on for these 3 reasons that after reading, make quite a bit of sense.

You can find a ton of resources on why you should use a business coach. In a lot of cases they make sense. Before you make that decision though, you need to think through some reasons why you shouldn’t hire a business coach.

Before we go into the details of why you shouldn’t use a business coach, let’s define what exactly a business coach is. Business coaching involves someone providing you with tools, resources and feedback to improve your business model, profitability, and consistency. They can provide a wonderful way to speed up the process of learning new skills and blasting past roadblocks. That sounds like a great reason to run right out and hire one huh? Well slow down and take a breath. Before you spend your time researching and finding a business coach, lets look at three key reasons it may not make sense for you to hire a business coach.

Three Reasons Not to use a business coach.

1) Financial Commitment - A good coach can provide a huge value to your business. That is how they survive and get referrals. To get the most out of a good business coaching program, you have to understand that you are making a financial commitment. Rarely will one month with a coach resolve your issues and get your to the level you want to take your business. Think about an athlete. Once they get a coach, he will implement a training regimen for them. They provide feedback as they go along the course to make sure the athlete is correctly executing the program. When a plateau is reached, they provide alternatives to blast past it. It is possible for a small business coach to make huge impacts on your business in under a month but don’t base your financial future on it. Be ready to make the financial investment in a good business coaching program

2) Ego - If you are only hiring a business coach so they can tell you how great and wonderful you are. Save your money. Business coaches are not in the business of stroking your ego. At least not good ones. Many business owners don’t really want to make changes in their business. They want someone to tell them that forces outside of their control are the reason they can’t be successful or grow their business. I won’t spend a lot of time on this issues because no one I know will ever admit it. Just be aware of it before you make the decision to find a good coach.

3) Unwilling to Change- If you don’t want to make any changes, if you don’t want to actually take the time and effort to improve your business, don’t spend the time, effort and energy on a coach. It won’t matter who you get or what they tell you. You will have wasted your money. The purpose of a coach is to isolate weak spots, provide tools to build those weaknesses up and help you grow your business.

There are a lot of reasons to use a coach to help you build your business. You just have to decide if you are willing to make the effort. They can speed up your ability to hit a business breakthrough and enjoy the life you wanted when you started your business in the first place.

Finding the right coaching can be a challenge. If you want a free report on how to use a small business coach to make your business more profitable and provide more free time just click here Small Business Coach Its a great resource for selecting the right coach to drive your business to greater profitability.

Business process automation is one of the biggest things you can do in your business in terms of return on investment. Any process that can be automated not only speeds up the system, but it also requires less manpower and there is less room for error in the system as well. The first step as a business owner however, is to really nail down your business process. If you don’t know what that is, you are flying blind and by the seat of your pants…. don’t expect long term success in this case! This article discusses the basics of business process automation and some of the other major benefits to doing this.

Automate Your Online Business Processes.

Do you conduct or manage your business, just take close look at some of the daily activities that you or your employees generally perform to run your business operations. If you try to observe or study your own business daily doings, you may find that most of the tasks that you perform are repetitive as well as tedious in nature and so a proper automation procedure is required that can effectively automate the entire process with zero involvement from you. Business process automation also known as BPA is thus defined as a process that focus on streamlining and automating key processes that help in driving the value for a organization. It consists of integrated applications and cuts down the labor cost wherever possible. Gaining its popularity, this process is also defined as technology components that have the ability to substitute manual process and further manage the flow of information to reduce cost and increase consistency.

Looking at the present scenario due to rigorous demand in the market, many enterprises are planning to deduce costs and in-turn increase shareholder value. As a result in order to survive in such competitive environment, businesses can have significant cost reductions and efficiencies by automating business process flows and eliminating non-value-adding human interventions. Business Process Automation software enables organizations to design, implement, observe, and constantly upgrade business processes that span organizational boundaries.

Talking about some of the major benefits of BPA, it makes business operation faster and easier. Apart from this it also automates the intricate processes mostly involved in running projects, programs and managing resources across the lifecycle. In fact it is the most inclusive workflow engine in the industry and offers the most elasticity for corporations in spite of organization size.

However, it is important to note that this process can deliver profit to any organization only with a combination of process re-engineering and technology along with organizational structure that can support both. In addition to this, BPA features three important pillars like: orchestration, integration, and dynamic process automation and combination of these three elements further enables organization to simplify and automate business processes despite of scale and intricacy of any business operation.

Orchestration facilitates business managers to work together on automated process designs using easy-to-use and intuitive interfaces. But orchestration must assemble and transform data/events into actionable information which further smooth the progress of proactive decision-making. Nevertheless orchestration is not useful in the absence of integration, so integration is must to change and replace critical data that affect the decision-making of humans and machines. Since most of the business processes consist of different systems, varied environments, and multiple applications, so an effective integration plays a vital part in business process automation.

The final element of business process automation is dynamic and automated execution across multiple systems. An effective automation finally enables organizations to eliminate repetitive and manual tasks. Automation integrates control over the development process to eliminate the hassles of managing and maintaining code over the long term.

Executive coaching is supposed to make a difference in the organization because the leaders of the organization are the ones that are being trained. Leadership works from the top down, so if leaders can learn new techniques that will allow their organizations to run more smoothly and be better at growing the business, because they are better at dealing with people, and systems and these are the two biggest things that makes organizations work. This article taks about how executive coaching programs can benefit organizations through maximizing the resources available to it.

ROI of Executive Coaching

Are you working in a company or law firm where leaders are engaged in an executive coaching program? How do leaders in your company or law firm measure the cost effectiveness of executive coaching programs?

One of the most powerful questions one can ask is “How does our company leadership measure the return on investment of executive coaching programs?” Emotionally intelligent and socially intelligent leaders align executive coaching programs with the company strategy.

Maximizing Resources and Coaching

A coaching program that is carefully conceived as a part of the overall organizational strategy will be cost effective. The cost of coaching can be measured against other development options such as seminars, which might involve multiple days and travel expenses. Even so, training and workshop lessons are retained more effectively with the help of a coach. When a situation calls for coaching, the most expensive coach is no coach.

One return-on-investment study on executives from Fortune 1000 companies revealed an average of almost six times the cost of coaching programs, with improvements in productivity, quality, organizational strength, customer service, and shareholder value. They received fewer customer complaints, and were more likely to retain executives who had been coached. In another study, a coaching program produced a 529% return on investment and significant intangible benefits to the business. Including the financial benefits from employee retention boosted the overall ROI to 788%.

Skilled executive coaches can help leaders can explore their strengths within the context of the organization, work more effectively with their teams, develop leadership skills, inspire others and be more focused and effective. The masterful coach helps link the leader’s personal goals with the business strategy of the organization.

When Coaching Goes Wrong

To be optimally effective, the coaching program with executives must be well managed and aligned with other organizational goals and processes. Failure to do so is a primary source of problems. Organizations new to coaching may not be aware of the need to manage and oversee this activity. Even so, there are some factors that may arise no matter what. Having a sponsor or program manager can help limit damage and wasted resources.

Working with a seasoned executive coach trained in emotional intelligence and incorporating leadership assessments such as the Bar-On EQ-i and CPI 260 can help you become a leader who matches their personal coaching goals with the business strategy of the organization. You can become a leader who models emotional intelligence and social intelligence, and who inspires people to become happily engaged and aligned with the vision and mission of your company or law firm.

Executive coaching combines a widely-accepted process and a coach’s skill set to help a leader achieve their goals. The best executive coaches are serious. … it is also important when you are hiring an executive coach to make sure it is clear in your coaching agreement (a) the roles of the client, coach, and sponsor (who is paying for the coaching); (b) how you will communicate status of the coaching to the sponsor; and (c) clear overall goals of the coaching program. …

Professional development is just as important as business development. A strong professional development plan will have the effects carry over into the business world and personal world as well. Professional development is developing yourself from a career point of view. How can you be a better sales person? How can you be a better networker, or marketer. Reading the book “How to Win Friends and Influence People” is a great example of professional development that also will improve your personal life as well. Putting your best foot forward so people like you is a great improvement in any area of your life. In this article, the author discusses the importance of having a strong professional development plan. Read on for more!

Article: Professional Development Plan Is Just One Success Step in Achieving Business and Personal Success

Professional development plan should be part of every person’s business or personal action plan in the quest to reach that next success step. With the current year quickly coming to an end, now is the time for reflection to answer these questions:

What goals did I achieved?

What goals do I have yet to realize?

Where did I expand my energy?

Where did I waste my energy?

How much further evolved am I 365 days later?

To answer the last question, I looked back at 2006 and counted the hours that I had personally invested in my own self-development. The answer was over 300 professional development hours or less than one hour per day. This well invested time has helped me to evolve from a good performance improvement consultant, executive and corporate coach to a better one who realizes that I need to continually evolve if I am truly committed to delivering the best solutions to my clients. And what is even more important, my state of evolving has resulted in my own personal growth and awareness.

As I contemplated this last year as well as previous years, I can truly say that my own self-directed professional development has been a continuum of evolving. I have been fortunate to interact with a variety of individuals who have willingly shared their experiences and allowed me to share mine. These interactions range from one on coaching sessions to tele-conferencing mastermind groups to attending formal conferences. And, one of the additional benefits is the development of new strategic alliances from coast to coast.

Currently, I am revisiting my 2007 strategic business plan and personal action plan. Professional development goals in 2007 will include over at least 365 hours or at least one hour per day.

100 hours for professional development conferences

1.5 hours per week for a mastermind marketing group

1 hour per week speaking to a coach or mentor

5 hours per week minimum for reading

The outcome from these written goals is:

I can state with complete confidence that my clients will double and multiply their results.

My growth will help other individuals beyond my clients.

I will be a better person.

What continually surprises me is the lack of planned professional and personal development by most individuals who tell me that they want that next level of success. However, these same people tell me that “They don’t have time” or that “Their plates are full.” Yet, research suggests that most people waste at least 1 hour per day.

Just imagine if you could reinvest that one-hour per day toward your own evolving? What new heights of development could you reach? Well, a New Year is just around the corner and you still have time to develop your professional development plan.

P.S., if you don’t have a strategic plan for your business or an action plan for yourself, then you are on somebody else’s usually your competitor’s for that next client or that next position.

Since the Internet is worldwide, anyone from anywhere can access your business website. That means your potential visitors can come from anywhere. What if you are a local business? Does it still make sense to spend resources on marketing online? The answer is yes, because your local market is still looking for your products and services online. There are things you can do to maximize the effect of these services however. This article discusses a bit more about local online marketing for location based businesses.

Local Business marketing when done correctly and in within a system will deliver fantastic results. The major problem I find when talking to business owners is the lack of good advice they find before starting their online campaigns. They often make a very, very big mistake before they even start. They are aiming for the wrong goal. They think they need a website. What they need are customers visiting a Website. In fact there is a way of getting customers without even having a website. Google are aware of the massive growth in the needs of local businesses and have created a section called Google Maps.

They rank this very highly in fact if you type in “your trade or service” in “your town. Eg “Restaurants in London”. The first thing Google lists are the 7 highest ranking Restaurants in London next to a Map. This happens in every town in every country. This should be a must for every business owner to try to get their business next to their map. You do not need a website for this. Google will create a web listing for you with your contact information and lots of other information about your business/service. Now you are attracting customers.

Once this is achieved, the next step should be to create a Website. Not any website - A Lead Generation Website. This is a website that is designed to be on page1 of Google for as wide an area as you target - Maybe 30 mile radius from your business premises. This style of website is designed to meet our initial goal - attracting customers, making it as easy as possible to find your site to solve their problem. The whole site is designed very simply to convert visitors into customers.

I learnt these strategies the hard way. I have spent years researching and fine tuning them so as to make a system that will work for all businesses. I have given you a route as how to do it correctly or we could do it for you and you will enjoy the results much sooner. Leaving you to do what you are good at, running your business. Any questions please email me on this email listed on this website. http://offline2onlinemarketingltd.co.uk

In today’s age, if you are a business and you don’t have a website, your credibility will immediately be in question. Gone are the days where having a web site is an option. Using the Internet is one of the most cost effective forms of marketing. In this article, the author discusses how a web site benefits small business. Read on for more!

Times have certainly changed. Twenty years ago all you needed was an ad in the phone book and a mailing list to launch a small business marketing campaign. Today you need a website, a social media strategy, an e-mail list, and a blog, just for starters.

Small Business Marketing for Start Ups

Of course, when you are first starting out you can’t launch everything at once. It helps to have a plan that starts slowly and builds. Fortunately, today’s small business marketing ideas don’t cost nearly as much as a yellow pages ad or a direct mail list.

At the heart of any small business marketing plan is the website. You can’t get around the importance of having your own website on your own domain name. Most people are not looking in the phone book for business referrals, they are looking on the internet. They are typing their requests in search engines or they are asking their friends on Twitter. If you aren’t there, you might as well be nowhere.

Small Businesses Need Their Own Domain

You can find free or shared website plans out there. This is probably one of the worst small business marketing ideas out there. Maybe the price sounds right, maybe they promise you free promotion. You should understand that as long as you are doing business under someone else’s domain you are at their mercy. All the effort you put in to building a reputation and getting yourself noticed online accrues to the benefit of the domain holder.

Someday the company that hosts your site may go belly up or sell out or simply change their rules of business and you will be stuck having to start over building credibility from the ground up on your domain. The best strategy for a small business is to start with a small website and build from there. That way all of the online marketing strategy accrues to the small business owner and not the big business domain holder.

Small Business Marketing Growth Plan

Launching a website costs just pennies a day in the beginning. Starting with a website and a WordPress blog you can begin drawing traffic to your site while also circulating your name in free online directories. You can add an email list to your plan and send out weekly tips to keep your name visible to potential clients. Blog posts will provide frequent updates that attract the search engine bots and drive up your rankings. Social marketing will help promote your blog and direct people to your website.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money on a website, especially not in the beginning. Whether you are an accountant or a plumber or a weekend math tutor, a website can be your interactive phone book advertisement for the 21st century. Today’s templates make it simple to get started and implement the small business marketing ideas that are keeping other small businesses afloat in an uncertain economic climate.

LOL, many out there would consider coaching and therapy to be the same thing, which is why many business owners or professionals don’t take the time to consider a coach, because they don’t feel they need therapy. Well, coaching provides a much different function than therapy, and if you ask me, it is better to check out something that can possibly help you and even turn your business around, than to hold yourself back from pre-conceived ideas. Read on for more about what this article has to say.

Understanding where coaching ends and therapy begins
This boundary between coaching and therapy is extremely vague and subjective. In fact I would go so far as to say that they overlap significantly resulting in a set of similarities between coaching and therapy. This can prove to be somewhat confusing for helping professionals who try to explain those differences. It is true that coachees report that their coaching was very therapeutic but that does not mean that what they were receiving was therapy. So whilst there are many similarities between coaching and therapy I would like to concentrate on the differences in this article and then on the similarities in the next one.

Solution focused versus problem focused
The main difference in my experience of having practised as a coach and a therapist is that coaching tends to focus on the solution to problems rather than spending many hours trying to understand the problem. Therapy on the other hand is mainly about focussing on the problem, analysing and seeking an understanding the problem or just “being with” the problem. Therapy is also very useful for helping people to abstract a larger meaning for the problem.

Future versus past
Another difference between coaching and therapy could be that coaching deals with the accomplishment of future goals whereas therapy helps people to come to terms with painful events from the past. Of course this is a generalisation and a gross simplification. For instance some of these past painful events that a person experiences may get in the way of their ability to achieve their goals, so the coaching conversation will naturally reveal this “impediment”. It is then a question of whether the coach and coachee feel that it is appropriate to continue with the coaching while dealing with “baggage” from the past.

Remedial versus developmental
Therapy tends to be used in a remedial fashion helping clients deal with issues such as child abuse, bereavement or other events that have caused extreme trauma or depression within the client. Coaching on the other hand is mainly used as a learning and development tool to help clients achieve personal or business goals while deepening their awareness and understanding of themselves.

The Relationship: Top-dog/underdog vs egalitarian
Coaching works best when the coaching relationship is perceived as a peer-to-peer relationship, so all good coaches seek to establish this type of relationship. This is counter to many (but not all) forms of therapy where the therapist is considered the “top dog” or the expert while the client is the “under dog” or the patient.

Timing and frequency
A therapy session usually takes place every week (more often in the case of psychoanalytic) and lasts for 50 minutes, or a therapy hour as my wife would call it. The duration of therapy can last somewhere between 1 to five years. Conversely, coaching tends to be of shorter duration, but not always as is the case with executive coaching. Skills or performance coaching tend to have a short duration of maybe a few weeks to a few months. The frequency of coaching sessions again is variable with performance coaching taking place every week whereas developmental coaching often occurs once every 4 to 6 weeks. The typical length of a coaching session tends to be one to three hours.

Price
This may sound ludicrous but the cost of quality therapy versus quality coaching is huge, with coaching being often four times more expensive than therapy. I say this is ludicrous because of the amount of regulation, training, assessments and supervision that a therapist has to comply with compared to that of a typical business coach.

In the follow-up article to this I will cover the similarities between coaching and therapy.

Mark Buchan is business coach who specialises in executive coaching (aka leadership coaching). Mark works with the senior and junior leaders in large and small organisations.
You ought not to delay hiring one of the top coaching firms for your business. The benefits you would derive from hiring an executive coaching service can simply be measured by the resultant changes within the business. …

When creating and growing a small business. It is necessary to spend the time and effort in growing your small business. This can require more time than one person has. An entrepreneur or small business owner will have to get creative in coming up with ways to handle all of the these tasks. Automation is one way that will allow a single person to do more because they are taking advantage of software to do the time intensive repetitive tasks. In this article, the author discusses the way for a small business owner to get a better handle on their business. Read on for more!

One of the most common drawbacks that people who start up a small business will report, is that they end up spending way too much time on tedious tasks. Some will end up working a 16 hour day just trying to keep up with all of the paperwork, and other little things that they need to do to make their small business run. Before you let this get out of hand and drain you of all of your energy and optimism, you might want to take a look at automating as much of your small business as possible.

Here are some tips on how you can automate some of the more tedious tasks related to your small business:

1. Discover the ease of using software specifically designed to help run your business. Nearly every aspect of clerical work and other things tht you need to do to run your business can be done much quicker when you employ the right software to do the job. You can kind of think of it like having a personal assistant of sorts. Do not be afraid to use software to automate your small business, if you want to be able to get rid of all of the monotonous and tedious tasks.

2. Outsource as much work as you possibly can. With the world being so interconnected in regards to business, even smaller companies can take advantage of being able to outsource some of their work. You will have to make sure that you are dealing with an outsourcing company that you can rely on and trust, and so, you will have to treat it as an interview of sorts when you employ one of these companies to help automate your small business.

3. Hire local college interns. Many local colleges will have students that are interested in gaining real world work experience related to their field. This will help them to get a job much more easily when they graduate and enter the working world, so you can hire one or two as an intern and have them help you to “automate” parts of your business. Even if you have to bite the bullet and pay them something like $ 10 an hour, if it frees up your time to secure new business, it can be more than worth it for you in the long run.

In today’s new business world, even small businesses can automate nearly all of the tedious tasks and instead, focus on using their time to focus on gaining new clients, new customers, and new business.

If you are running a business, you will need to have an online or Internet presence as well to give your business legitimacy on the Internet. To make the most of your online presence, you should approach it in the same ways as you approach your regular business, and use strategies and tactics to get more exposure for your website. In this article, it talks about how to find a good Internet Business Training program.

If you are like most people you are either currently trying or have tried some sort of work at home or internet business in the past. Don’t get me wrong, I work on the internet and think it is absolutely the best job in the world, but there are a lot of people (most) who fail. Now why is that? Why do so many people fail to ever realize their dreams working from home or on the internet?

From my experience there are several factors that will contribute to success on the internet. The first is a decision and commitment to the business at hand. If you try to make a successful internet business half-heartedly, then you are already one foot out the door. Building a business online has just as many stumbling blocks as an offline business and if you quit at the first sign of trouble, then of course you will never see success. Internet businesses are not get rich quick schemes, or at least the legitimate ones. If someone is telling you that you can make 40k in a week and its so easy even their sister could to it, run for the hills.

The second factor is the training and mentoring you receive. This is hands down the most important part and the basis for this article. The problem with a lot of internet businesses, is that we see a lot of “the blind leading the blind.” Brand new internet marketers are trying to teach and instruct other brand new internet marketers and they all end up failing. So how do you reduce your learning curve?

Simple. Partner only with those who are currently achieving the level of success you want and make sure that the compensation plan encourages mentor-ship. Be wary of any compensation plan where you are not encouraged to produce for your mentor/sponsor long term or any plan where you can actually pass your sponsor if you really take off. Both of these situations will not lead to long term training and development.

As for the actual training vehicles, your mentor will be key, however you also want to look for the size and depth of their back office. A good company will have countless hours of trainings and videos available and archived on specific marketing methods. They should be easy to access and chocked full of content. Ask to see samples of the training before you join to double check their claims.

These factors will be directly proportional to your success online, so be choosy and do your due diligence. Personally I would look for a program where you are in a direct override commission structure, in a business with massive back office training underneath of a solid and proven mentor.

As always, good luck out there!

For small businesses and entrepreneurs to succeed in todays business environment, it is imperitive that htey start off on the right foot from the start. Most people are not tnatural born business owners, and many of the success producing tactics must be learned. These tactice and strategies can be learned through the school of hard knocks or through the fast track with a business coach. In this article, the author discusses why it is imperative to find a business coach or mentor ASAP. Read on for more.

Why would anyone waste money paying someone else to coach them on how to be an online business success? When you are first starting out online and need to bring in profit as quickly as possible, the option of hiring a business coach or finding an online mentor seems like a waste of money. You think you can learn it all as you go along or that you can just find a good program to sign up for and they will tell you everything you need to know for “one low price.”

The problem with that type of program is that the in-depth knowledge needed to turn your online business into a profitable success in a short period of time cannot be condensed into an eBook or even a video series. Those who have managed to become huge successes online got personal feedback and advice which was tailored directly to their own business and their own goals.

Generalized advice spun for anyone and everyone is not going to make you a huge success anytime soon. When selecting an online business coach or mentor you need someone with all of the following:

Proven Experience…

A good business coach or mentor is someone who has already successfully walked the line you want to follow. They have build their own business from the bottom up (probably with the guidance or another expert) and they know firsthand the struggles and joys of owning their own online business. If there are any true secrets to becoming an online success, an entrepreneur who has built at least one successful online business will know them!

Enviable Success…

Along with that experience and expertise comes a life of success and contentment that others strive to have. A good mentor has handled their money wisely and made the best decisions for their own life. Their personal success shows that they are wise and well equipped to give advice on your own personal affairs.

If you envy the success and life of a business coach, then you have something to strive toward. You have solid evidence that this person knows what they are talking about and you have some goals of where you want to be one day.

The Blunt Truth…

Above all, you want a business coach who is going to be direct and honest with you. Someone who will tell you only what you want to hear or “soften the blow” when they fear you are making a mistake will not lead you to where you want to be. Sometimes it takes the blunt, hurtful truth to get you past a potential mistake and back onto the successful path.

There are tons of mistakes that beginners often make when they first start an online business. These mistakes can cost them months of their time and thousands of dollars at times, and even the less costly mistakes add up over the years.

When you hire a business coach you are less likely to fall into the trap of making those mistakes yourself. They will tell you when something you come up with is a bad idea or can tell you what the risks are and how to make something pay off big. All of this will be a direct response to your own ideas and your unique business plan. You simply can’t get that kind of in-depth insider advice from an eBook!

We all have our unique quirks and ways of learning things. Because we are individuals, when working with a consultant in a heavily relationship oriented manner, such as some type of personal or business coaching, a personality and style match is a must for a successful outcome. When looking for a business coach, you have to match personality types and work styles in order to truly seek the performance and efficiency gains that a business owner usually desires. In this article, the author discusses some of the things that the entrepreneur should ask themselves about the potential coach before taking the plunge.

Is It Just Business?

Business Coaching is based on developing powerful, purposeful, productive relationships that inspire increased productivity, growth, innovation and overall performance. If a coach is only interested in developing a superficial, business relationship, you will not get much out of this experience. Your dealings with the coach will be flat, unproductive and most likely, wasted.

Have They Ever Been In Your Situation?

The coach may be well versed in all sorts of individual and organizational theories, but have they actually been in the situation you are in right now? If not, they will try to apply textbook approaches, case studies and other assumptions towards a real life situation, which will again, fail you in the end.

Are You Getting Package 4B?

Is the coach personalizing assessments, methodologies, goals and objectives for what you want to achieve or are you getting the standard package of tools and approaches? Your plan should include taking you to places where you have not spent much time before - because this is where the life-changing breakthroughs will happen.

Do You Trust Them?

Knowledge, experience and a high hourly rate do not equate in any way to value. Trust is an imperative aspect of a beneficial and productive coaching relationship. No matter how good the coach may actually be, if you do not trust and believe in them, it is time to find someone else.

Did You Get the ‘Time, Financial and Balance’ Spiel?

Everyone knows our main, daily pressures fall into three main categories: time, financial and balance between work and life. If you hear these words from a coach in your first meeting, turn around and run. You are getting a package.

Assess Their 38 and 55

Statistics indicate that tone (38%) and body language (55%) communicate more than words. What did the coach communicate to you?

Or did they also mention this?

Many people who are considering using executive coaching to improve their bottom line, or efficiency may have many questions about how the process works if it is their first time using executive coaching services. There are questions about how many sessions will it take, how often are the sessions, what are they like and what do they cover among many of the questions. This article gives a great description of what a typical professional coaching experience will be like. Read on for more.

Coaching is a well-recognized intervention for developing talent and leadership, but what does it really involve?

In this article we aim to demystify executive coaching and what happens in practice by outlining our typical coaching process as performed by us regularly in London, the UK and internationally.

The process starts with a matching meeting between the executive to be coached and the potential coach in order to:

Explain the process and possibilities

Establish the individual’s initial objectives for coaching

Allow the executive to experience the coach’s style and approach first hand

Act as a chemistry check

Session 1

Once the client has chosen their coach, the programme starts with the first coaching session to:

Gain an understanding of the client’s goals and motivations

Refine the objectives for the programme and draw up a coaching contract

Agree any additional information that would assist in meeting the objectives, for example stakeholder interviews, 360 feedback, leadership profiles, psychometric tests etc.

The coach may then go and interview key stakeholders to gather feedback.

Session 2

In the second coaching session the aim is to:

Review feedback from others, psychometrics and profiles as identified in session 1

Refine the coaching objectives

Build the executive coaching action plan for meeting the objectives

Identify short-term wins

There is often a 3-way meeting held between the client, their manager and the coach to agree the final objectives and any additional support required.

Session 3 Onwards

Once the coaching objectives have been refined and a coaching action plan has been put together the focus is on putting the learning into practice, tracking success, reviewing the coaching action plan, deciding what’s worked and what hasn’t, and drawing conclusions for the future.

We respond to individual needs and learning styles, interventions include some or all of the following:

Raising self-awareness

Discussing and overcoming challenges

Planning for events

Expanding understanding

Brain storming

Identifying resources

Committing to action

Final Session

The final session is focused on reviewing the executive’s progress and planning for future sustainability, we aim to:

Review against initial objectives

Give transactional feedback to the manager and organisation as agreed up front

Plan actions for sustainability - Identifying ongoing support if appropriate

Duration and Frequency

The coaching programme normally has a fixed duration, which is usually between 6 to 12 months, depending on the coaching objectives. We strongly believe that the objectives and duration need to be clearly contracted up front.

Meetings normally take place on average once per month, they are often closer together at the beginning and further apart towards the end to reduce dependence on the coach.

Working with executives from diverse backgrounds requires a flexible attitude to the learning styles of different cultures so this will always be taken into account.

Executive coaching allows companies to keep their top leaders on track and on the path of continuous growth and improvement. When businesses employ executive coaching, they receive many benefits for both the individuals involved as well as the company as a whole. This article below gives a very brief overview as to why a company may want to use executive coaching in their business. This is a place to start, but you would still want to read more articles on some executive coaching statistics to get a better idea as well.

The main goal of Executive Coaching is to help individuals develop in the right way which will result in them reaching their potential quickly.

Companies can achieve this through a number of approaches and they must choose the most appropriate method for their particular organisation. These approaches are: leadership programmes, board development and executive coaching, managed coaching service to develop effective leaders.

Executive coaching has been taking over the board rooms in recent years. It is a very popular focus in the industry at the moment and is a great way to develop senior management needs and personal skills. The main aim is to try to improve performance or change certain behavioural habits. Executive coaching specialists recognise that coaching must be goal orientated and personally tailored to the individual.

Executive coaching is structured around a set of key variables. Firstly, the aim is to complete the training quickly and make sure that candidates have the ability to meet their coaching goals in a short space of time. This service places a great deal of emphasis on reaching set goals and maintaining both long and short term goals. As mentioned earlier it is also very closely tailored to the individual employee.

Some people may be confused as to why employers use executive coaching in the first place. Even though this type of service is not cheap and can cost larger companies a significant amount of money, many people might say that the benefits outweigh the costs. Employers use this form of training for a wide variety of purposes and for good reason. For example when a new senior member of staff is appointed they will need to be armed with the necessary skills to coach their team in the most effective way. This method can also be brilliant for greatly improving the personal development of highly talented individuals so that they can reach their potential quickly.

Another situation where this may be very beneficial is when a company is making changes and giving people slightly different job roles. When organisational change takes place it is useful to have someone making sure that the influential people in the company are still focused and performing in the correct way.

Business coaching is like any other service business, or coaching business. The key is however, you have to run it like a business, and not like a hobby. There are many strategies and tactics that have to be in place in order to make the business more effective and more profitable. Understanding exactly what a coach does is part of the marketing strategy that will allow the coach to market themselves more effectively. Read on for more.

It has been thoroughly documented that Coaching is an extraordinarily effective way of managing and leading individuals toward increasing levels of personal performance. Whether on the sports field or in the business world, the increase in the utilisation of coaches has reached incredible heights in recent years.

This is not without good reason; numerous studies - most notably one called the Manchester Review, demonstrated that coaching increased the ROI and effectiveness of Managers and Executives by over 500%. Coaching as a technique is utilised throughout our world, and it’s certainly of use to everyone who has any significant responsibility for individual management or leadership.

Its use in business has grown massively in recent years, as it has proven to be one of the most effective tools for gaining increases in efficiency and effectiveness. Coaching is also something that is generally viewed positively by the “Coachees”, who usually see it as a beneficial interaction with their managers or superiors as compared to the more traditional methods that were used in the past.

Often, coaching is mistakenly viewed as something only for salespeople - this is a completely false misconception, as all functions can benefit from managers and senior staff being trained in the tools and techniques used by coaches.

Coaching is the approach of delivering support and advice to a person or group of people in order to assist them with finding avenues in which they can increase the overall effectiveness of their businesses. Coaches work to improve leadership, establish employee accountability, inspire teamwork, generate sales, expand communication, motivate goal setting, implement strategic planning and much more. This can be provided in a number of ways, including one-on-one or group coaching sessions. Mistakenly, coaching is often seen to be only needed when things are not going well, however successful businesses recognize the benefits of coaching even when their organisation is at its best.

Coaching is not the same as mentoring, and the two should not be confused. Mentoring involves a developmental relationship between a more experienced “mentor” and a less experienced partner, typically involving the sharing of advice. A coach can act as a mentor - given that he or she has adequate expertise and experience. However, mentoring is not a form of coaching. An exceptional coach doesn’t need to have specific business knowledge and understanding in the particular field that the person getting the coaching is dealing with in order to deliver top-notch coaching services.

Coaching is also NOT training. Often, companies I have worked with have said to me that they want their managers to be coaches or that they want to improve the organisations coaching capabilities, but in reality they want people to become on-the-job trainers.

An effective coach can add value far beyond the cost of the sessions or the cost of an employee brought in as a coach. In the Pharmaceutical Industry for example, Sales Managers will often go through an excess of 120 days each year in the field with their team - working on a 1:1 basis; this is a colossal investment of time and resources. If these managers can become excellent coaches, the value gained here will be exponential, and if they can’t, then that’s a lot of money wasted on heating the passenger seat of a car.

Many organisations expect their senior leaders and middle managers to coach their team members toward higher levels of performance, increased job satisfaction, personal growth, and career development. Those that do, usually back up their expectations with training in coaching skills, access to feedback tools, and/or specific coaching behaviours described in their leadership competency models. However, few organisations link coaching activities to compensation, and until there is a prominent culture that links effective coaching to reward, there will continue to be minimal coaching by managers. In order to establish this culture into an company it is first of all a requirement to give proper training and support to the individuals that are counted upon to coach, and also relate their fringe benefits and payment to the noticeable improvements that they bring while in this position.

This article is unique because it focuses on a particular type of business coaching, and that is Internet business coaching. This is important because if anyone wants to be successful on the internet , they need to look at their web site as if it is a business. This is where many entrepreneurs fail is tat they look at their web sites as a hobby. They allow themselves to miss out on opportunities and actions that they should be taking, but don’t because they see them not as an investment, but as something to spend more money on. There should be more Internet business coaching articles on this web site… Here is one for the travel-based entrepreneur.

Travel professionals are always bothered about selling their travel website in the online market. Are you also undergoing the same trouble? Well, the advancing internet technology has helped more and more people to go online and easily acquire relevant solutions for their queries. So, whenever it comes to look in for a holiday destination where people can spend a quality time with their family, they prefer browsing these travel portals. Internet Business Coaching and Marketing for Travel Professionals have always focused on the aspect of selling the website aptly so that more of potential customers can easily acquire your services.

Website Design and Content

Whenever a visitor lands at your website, you just have thirty seconds to help him make up his mind for obtaining your services. However, if your website is unable to satisfy the visitor, he will automatically navigate to some other web page. To overcome this convolution, it is very important to have a website design that is not only attractive and easy to download, but is also absolutely clear. The informational content should always be present on the home page so that it can draw the attention of the reader immediately. Every step towards marketing and selling your website should be so influential that the client should not be left with a space for a second thought.

Content is the fundamental requirement of a website. Content in a web page is something that keeps the visitor stick to the site for a longer time and if he feels satisfied, he may also acquire your services. So, being an administrator of a travel website, you must make sure that your site incorporates enough data and satisfies the queries of the visitor aptly. Apart from just providing information on various holidays destinations, you can even include FAQs’. Frequently Asked Questions must take account of all the issues that may bother a client and you should honestly answer them. Creating such a page can really facilitate your clients, thereby helping you to sell your website easily.

Images

As per Internet Business Coaching and Marketing for Travel Professionals, using images and photographs in the website also offers numerous benefits. So, you can also add images to your travel website, but remember images are a great tool that can facilitate in enhancing sales. These should be used wisely for providing information and not for entertainment purposes. In addition to this, call to action can also prove to be advantageous and you can use it like ‘Book Now‘.

Testimonials

Usually, when it comes to testimonials, most of the people take it as a part of heavy investment, which is not true. These are an effective way to win the trust of the clients, especially those who come from distant places in order to enjoy their vacation.

You should make efforts to put as much testimonials as you can so as to target maximum customers on to your website. These are some essential elements as per Internet Business Coaching and Marketing for Travel Professionals which can prove to be of a great assistance for selling your website and making a powerful impact among the competitors

Business coaching and executive coaching are slightly different in their approach to working with clients and customers, yet the both must market their business to get more clients. These coaches can either market online, or offline, but preferably a mix of both. The best marketing is to have a mix of both online and offline marketing. Even better, is to have a referral plan in place to allow other to market your business. Referral marketing is the best form of marketing around. Read on for more about the kind of marketing that one can do as a business or executive coach.

A business coach or an executive coach must actively market herself or himself given the explosion of the coaching industry. This mushrooming market has grown so rapidly that statistics are sparse. However, the International Coaching Federation has increased membership from 2,122 in 1999 to 11,100 in 2006. Marketing begins after you have defined your target market because the spray and pray (spray it on the wall and pray it sticks) solution is quite costly and highly ineffective.

Again, your strategic plan should include a separate marketing plan. HINT: Many business owners confuse marketing with selling. These are two separate processes within a sales process. A future article will discuss this in further detail.

Now that you better understand your target market, you will need to determine the best way to reach these potential clients. How you reach them is part of your marketing plan within your strategic plan. Even if you don’t have a strategic plan and a strategic action plan that is comprised of the marketing goals that you are actively achieving and monitoring, there are some ways to market yourself to your target market.

Zero cost to nominal cost excluding your time

Article marketing through quality sites such as EzineArticles is one such strategy

Speaking at local service organizations and they may even feed you

Writing a column in your local newspaper

Speaking at your local radio station

Optimizing your website to attract high traffic

Send monthly electronic newsletters

Attend networking opportunities

Create strategic alliances

Moderate cost excluding your time

Join as an associate member to associations within your target market

Join local networking groups such as BNI, LEADS, etc.

Join local chambers of commerce

Purchase leads from a lead generation business

Advertise in local media such as newspaper, print, TV or cable TV

Speak at conferences

Direct mail at least 1000 pieces for statistical significanc

High cost excluding your time

Hire a marketing consultant or agency

Advertise in larger markets on prime media vehicles such as radio or TV

Purchase space at tradeshow

Regardless of what marketing strategy you take, make sure that you measure the outcomes. If it is working, then keep doing it. Your target market needs to know about you before they can even consider your business coaching services.

This article basically lets the reader know that there is free coaching and training available on the internet. This is interesting because I recently spoke to someone about the need for entrepreneurs to stop giving away their training, especially through webinars. He made a difference between webinars and teleseminars. The difference was that you can give for free the WHAT to do, but when you are giving the HOW to do it, it is like training, and you should charge for that. I tend to agree. If you give everything away for free, then your target market won’t value your services. In any rate, another place that you can find free business coaching, training and online workshops is at this site:

Webinar and Teleseminar events

Today’s world breeds competitiveness amongst all of us because the truth is if you are not competitive enough you get trampled by the desires and ambitions of the other people in the long run. Life is not as simple as it used to be and this is one of the prime reasons why we need to be competent enough to our counterparts so as to in turn prove that we are not to be left behind in the rat race. A fresher when joins the corporate world is quite unaware of how it works and how to gel into the environment. Thus, the new recruits always need adequate coaching and training to understand how to work in the new place which is totally different from what we would have expected. Keeping these new needs in mind have thus been designed the free coaching, training and mentoring lessons which are widely available on the internet so that people can take adequate advantage of the same to achieve the best results.

Not only are free lessons available on coaching, training and mentoring, many companies include these aspects in the initial induction program which they have for their new recruits. Coaching, training and mentoring constitute a major part of how a fresher could be moulded to achieve the necessary goals and mission of a particular organization. It is not only important for a recruit to be trained on his day-to-day work activities but also to be made aware of his own goals and development opportunities inside the organization which would benefit the individual and the organization on the whole.

Even though, the three terms - coaching, training and mentoring, appears of having the same meaning, but in true concept they are entirely different. Training is more of a strict regime in which trainers disseminate knowledge to the trainees on several topics and subjects which are unaware to the trainees. Coaching and mentoring are the two main methods by which experienced veterans can provide knowledge to the fresher’s in the field they are experts at. In a very broad manner, coaching can be explained as the process which deals with explicit skills and tactics however, mentoring is a kind of relationship between the mentor and the mentee which is more personal than professional and carries on for long-term.

Lessons on free coaching, training and mentoring are widely available on the internet so that this can help the fresher’s to a great extent to enhance their skills and potential and to emerge as successful professionals in their chosen field of work.

There are all kinds of coaching, business coaching, career coaching, life coaching, sales coaching, and professional coaching. So what exactly is professional coaching? Is it similar to business coaching or career coaching, or are they really completely different. This article discusses just what is professional coaching. It discusses it at a higher level, and is a great introduction article on professional coaching.

What is coaching? Coaching can mean many different things to different people. The context for the term when used by Compass Coaching is aligned with the definition and philosophies certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Below is a list of frequently asked questions to help one establish a better understanding of what coaching is and how it is provided by Compass Coaching.

What is coaching? Coaching is a professional service designed to help a client drive growth and improvement in their life, career, or business. The process involves one-on-one coaching sessions that focus on helping the client identify where they are, where they want to go, and the best way to get there. These sessions can recur at a desired frequency helping the client to stay on track through action planning and progress tracking.

What is a coaching session like? The sessions will revolve around a conversation that the client chooses and will typically revolve around a topic, challenge, or question that is at the top of the client’s mind. During the session, the coach listens and provides questions and observations. This will help create clarity and move the client into action. These meetings can either take place over the phone, over the internet, or they can be face-to-face. Typical length for a session will be between 30 to 60 minutes.

Why would someone be interested in coaching? Someone would be interested in professional coaching if they are not satisfied with where they are and with their current pace of growth and improvement.

What will the client need in order to prepare for a coaching session? The only preparation a client will need to do for a session is to bring something to discuss or to have an area to be coached on. In the event that the client does not have an area to be coached on, the coach will bring questions and exercises to the process to help the client identify potential areas that they might be interested in discussing and working on.

Is this like to therapy? It is easy to think that coaching is like therapy, and while they are similar in that they are both focused on improvement, there are some defined differences between the two. The main difference between the two is that therapy focuses on improving a damaged area with the goal of getting back to a normal state. With coaching, the assumption exists that the start point is a normal state with the goal of improvement driving toward more success and achievement.

An analogy that can help explain the difference is the comparison between a physical therapist and a personal trainer. Both might have a person work with weights to strengthen a group of muscles, but a physical therapist is improving an area back to normal and a personal trainer is working an area that is relatively healthy and improving it to a better state.

Coaching is similar to the personal trainer in that designed for improving individuals that are in a fairly normal state. If clients are looking for healing and improvement in damaged areas, some sort of mental therapy is likely a better fit.

How often does a coach meet with a client? The frequency and duration of the coaching sessions are purely up to the client. The sessions could be weekly, twice a month, monthly, or quarterly.

What areas is the coach an expert in? The coach comes to the table first and foremost as an expert in the area of coaching. This expertise enables the coach to guide and manage the coaching process, which is the way they provide the most value to the client. At a secondary level, the coach will typically have some depth of knowledge and expertise in a number of different areas through different experience and education. These areas will vary from coach to coach.

How is working with a coach going to help a client? Working with a coach will help a client to achieve more growth and success than they would if they were working independently. The amount of time to achieve goals and rate of growth is typically expedited when working with a coach as well.

Professional mentors are a bit different than business coaches. The relationship is a bit less formal, and more of a learn by example type of training. These are the kind of relationships that are usually built from having a close business relationship outside of mentoring altogether. How do professional mentors differ from business coaches and do they make any more or less impact in an entrepreneurs professional development? In the following article, we see just what the benefits of having a professional mentor are.

Professional mentors are not born, in fact they morph into gurus over time through encountering many experiences along their professional career. Their wisdom and wit flourishes from their many life lessons learned through trial and error, hard work and faith, and part luck. It is their high competency level and sharp mind that serves as an asset to employers as well as to students seeking such guides. Professional mentors represent talent from all over the world and usually they are hidden working on their own endeavors. These mentors do not walk around with a sign over their head so people can recognize them, instead we have to seek them out.

For those who are approached by mentors to further their careers and talent, they are very lucky because in most cases it is the other way around. Individuals may know what skills they want to develop and what professional goals they would like to attain, yet they do not have a strategic plan on making their dreams come true. This is where a professional mentor from a given field can assist you in achieving your goals by mapping an execution plan. Below are some things worth recognizing of professional mentors:

1. They can come in the form of a family, friend, colleague, boss or a new contact.
2. If you have a particular reference in mind for requesting their mentorship, definitely ask if they are available to guide you on occasional or regular basis. Professionals are so busy working that it would be refreshing and flattering for a contact to seek their advice.
3. They can usually relate to a wide group of talent ranging from young students to senior professionals.
4. They offer valuable advice as they learned from lessons along their professional journey. They’ll be able to share the Do’s and Don’ts of many activities.
5. Mentoring sessions can take place in-person, over the phone and email (depending upon the mentor’s location).
6. People can have more than one professional mentor, depending on their interests and needs.
7. Professional mentors are not there to grant overnight success to their students. People seeking their wisdom must be proactive in making positive changes in their lives. Mentors offer the tools for individuals to mold their talent into a long lasting asset.
8. Majority of mentors do not charge money. We can find them through networking, professional references or we can nominate a qualified person to become a mentor.
9. Becoming a mentor is a rewarding hobby as it enables him/her to guide and change people’s lives.
10. Mentors are not limited to assisting a certain amount of people at a time. Please do remember they have lives of their own that they can be preoccupied on regular basis. Coordinating schedules for regular sessions in advance works better when making consistent progress.
